the evolution of hotel lodging in Santa Cruz

Welcome to our Galapagos Habitat Eco Luxury Hotel, an exclusive ecological experience. Our iconic Galapagos hotel is situated right on the waterfront — surrounded by both Galapagos wildlife and mangroves that give a delightful sense of seclusion in the town of Puerto Ayora — on Santa Cruz Island, in the heart of the Galapagos Islands.

wildlife on your doorstep

With us, you don’t have to leave the hotel to enjoy the wildlife spectacles that have made this archipelago famous the world over: sealions line one side of our wooden deck, marine iguanas scuttle by our restaurant and pelicans roost in the mangroves.

Originally built by Galapagos pioneers in 1995, our hotel still boasts unique architecture and design, blending mangrove forests and Galapagos shoreline. The privileged location allows close observation of the mangrove ecosystem in action and views of Puerto Ayora’s bay.

Our guests can choose between 17 different rooms with 5 Suites, 6 Superiors and 12 Superior options in total. Some have ocean views while others look out onto the mangroves.

    Bar & Restaurant

From dawn to dusk, you can always count on a member of staff to help you with whatever you need in terms of food and beverages. Our bar is fully-stocked with local and international beers, liquors, and gins, and we can mix a mean cocktail, too. Feel free to start a tab and pay the night before you leave.

sustainability & conservation

With a view always on the future of these magical islands, we are keen to reduce our impact on the fragile environment of the Galapagos while creating a positive impact wherever we can. For example, you won’t find any single-use plastic in our hotel — we’d much rather give you a metal water-bottle than a plastic bottle! We also ask guests to reduce their energy consumption to a minimum while staying with us, turning air-conditioners off when they leave their rooms and using higher temperature settings. The long-term future of the Galapagos is everyone’s responsibility and we trust you too will play your part when you visit!
